ASUU Unhappy Over The Suspension Of UNIOSUN's VC

The Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) over the weekend called on Prof. Gabriel Olawoyin, the Chairman of the Osun State University Governing Council, over the suspension of Prof. Basir Okesina, the Vice Chancellor of Osun State University.
Prof. Nasir Fagge, the national leadership of Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU), called on Governor Rauf Aregbesola of Osun State to immediately call back the vice chancellor, Professor Bashir Okesina, registrar and the bursar of the institution.
Fagge who said the pro chancellor is not in the position to suspend the vice chancellor
At a press conference addressed in Osogbo, Professor Segun Ajiboye, the coordinator of ASUU, Ibadan Zone who represented the ASUU national chairman, Professor Nasir Fagge said the pro chancellor did not have such power to suspend the vice chancellor under the law that established the university. He also said the setting up of a parallel investigative body by Prof. Olawoyin was a good idea also noting that Mr Rauf Aregbesola, the visitor to the university and also Osun State governor, had already constituted a visitation panel headed by the Vice Chancellor of Federal University of Technology (FUTA), Akure, Professor Gregory Adebiyi, to investigate the matter.
He also spoke about the salaries of the workers yet to be paid, urging the governor to pay up.
